Scientific Approach in Learning

Here is one of hottest issue recently. It has emerged as result of the launch of new curriculum. This approach focuses on how teaching material and process become more scientific, using empirical fact, logic phenomenon, or rational value.

I am trying to simplifize this for my own interest. Reading some articles, books, and technical clues rather makes me spinning around. To break it into some pieces, I would like to concern on the process of learning would be done applying this approach. The process goes to three focuses, indeed, those three stuffs are important, attitude (know why), knowledge (know what?), and skill (know how).

By looking at these three objects, the teacher is supposed to create a productive, innovative, creative, and affective learning. Still, the aim of this is to produce students who are balanced both in soft and hard skills.

It has some steps need to be done in teaching and learning process which are: observing, questioning, associating, experimenting, and networking. Actually, I have read some previous approaches that let students to think critically or involved in a problem-solving. In short, this is also aimed to make students can identify, compare, analyze, evaluate and understand a topic clearly. Furthermore, students can apply their knowledge, use it in their daily life. See, today there are a lot of people who know how something should be but prefer to avoid their knowledge.

There are three methods which support scientific approach: discovery learning, project based learning, and problem based learning. These methods

Show Me Your Sympathy

Recently I ve found that people are hard to sympathize to others. Showing sympathy is rather similar with show others that you care, you do care about them or their sorrow. Sympathy is given to those who get unlucky events, such as sickness, accident, pain, of lost. It's really needed actually in order to tell those that they are not alone in this wild world.

Well, a couple months ago I asked you, my dear, to design words and also cards for showing your sympathy to those who need it. Today, I'd like to show which ones belong to the greater one, since each of you made such lovely ones. I won't name them, I just show you the pictures that I took after I read and scored them. Here they are:

Here is the one which gets the highest score...

Well, hopefully after this you can easily show your sympathy to other people in many chances. God blesses us ;)

X MIPA 1: Introduction

I was so happy when I checked all your works. You guys made the dialogue very well although it was your first time. You made the conversation in the hotel, restaurant, university, bank, airport, and bus station sounded real.

I found many grammar-errors but that's alright. Here is the best group I would like to announce.

The best idea belongs to "Airport Group".
The best acting goes to "Bank Group".
The cutest expression belongs to Nurul Awaliyah.
The best English talk belongs to Calvin.

Here is the "Airport script", I rewrote it in some parts. Check this out:

(Zeba, Aji, and Dennis are waiting in the airport. Then Ningrum, Dela, and Niko enter the waiting room and sit behind Zeba and friends. Minutes later, Ningrum notices that it's Zeba, her old friend)

N: "Excuse me, you are Zeba, right?
Z: "Yes, I am Zeba. Are you Ningrum?"
N: "Yes, I am. Do you still remember how close we were in junior high school?"
Z: 'Sure. How could I forget that? Long time no see. What's up?"
N: "I'm alright. How are you?"
Z: "I'm pretty good. Hey, who are they?"
N: "I forget to introduce you, it's my friends, Niko and Dela. Hey, don't you remember Dela?"
Z: "Oh, Dela. Hi, what's up?"
N: "I am okay. You looks more beautiful now?"
Z: "Are you kidding? By the way, this is my friends. He is Aji and this is Denis."

D: "Hi, my name is Denis."
A: "I am Aji."
N: "Zeba, your high school is SMA 2 Palembang?"
Z: "Certainly.
A: "Where do you come from?"
Ni: "Our school is in Belitung."
D: "Belitung is famous with rainbow city, isn't it?"
De: "Of course. Where are you going?"
D: "We want to go to Prambanan for our history tour."
A: 'Next to Borobudur."
Z: "How about you?"
De: "We already wanted to go home?'
Ni: "We attended the socialization on Indonesian culture in Bandung."
A: "Zeba, we have to leave now. that's the call."
Z: "Oh yeah, Ningrum, Niko, and Dela, we are so sorry that we have to go now. Hopefully we can meet on another occasion."
N: "Yeah, nice to meet you. Be careful, don't forget us."
Z: "Keep in touch."

Pamphlet: The best assignment from ya

Here we go, after taking a long time of delay. Finally I have spare time to post the best pamphlet. They are the best ones although they still need to be edited in some points.

For student XI IPA 4 and XI IPS 4, check these out:

Looks like the real one, right? It's interesting. Then, look at these following:

Everyone loves concert seemingly, so most of the pamphlets take this theme. And the last one is up to date since using independence day as its program.
That's all for our first assignment. Keep up your good work :)

Pamphlet: My Apology

Dear my sweet students ever, wherever you are.

As I promised you this morning, I would like to announce the best pamphlet here. But... I have to say sorry for you guys, I just entered my room at 6 this afternoon then prayed. I immediately looked into my bag and of course (I want to) let you know that announcement, but unfortunately, I didn't bring them (Oh God), they are staying quietly in my locker in our school.

I have my own reasons for that. Today was such a busy and hectic day, that I had to stay till 4 P.M. at school, doing many important things including designing "The Upcoming English Club Project" for us.
So, I should say sorry one more since I promised you. Promise means promise. I will (surely) post them tomorrow at my spare time. It will be around 10 in the morning, so please forgive me and check the announcement after school.

Your Lovely Teacher
